If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

About Us

Our grassroots nonprofit community organization was founded by Jean Perry, Michele Heller, Kim Bast and Danah Feldman. Jean and Michele still serve on the board along with Sue Roundy, Marney Reynolds, Ande Finley, Christine Langely, Nancy Wallace, Aliza Finley, Amy Stuzienko and Heather Gladstone. Our mission is to promote local sustainable food economy and land stewardhsip by means of locally sourced community meals know as Evening Meals at School, and any other projects deemed relevant and appropriate.

Every community dinner requires the help of about 25 volunteers organized under the tutelage of Danah Feldman, who miraculously rounds up folks to hang posters, set-up, greet, cashier, serve, bus, wash dishes, wrap silverware, break-down, and clean up. Without their energy, creativity and enthusiasm, these dinners would not be possible.

If you would like to volunteer your time, please sign up at the information table at the dinners or e-mail us. Please call Jean Perry (Vortex #4740) with food contributions or menu suggestions for future dinners. For general information, call Michele at (360) 468-3618.
